Instructional Design and Planning. Students will examine appropriate methods, strategies, and evaluation instruments, such as formative assessment, summative assessment, for assessing and monitoring student performance levels, needs, and learning. Students will also evaluate the differences between criterion-referenced assessments and norm-referenced assessments.
Instructional Delivery. Student will evaluate appropriate techniques for organizing, allocating, and managing the resources of time, space, and attention. Students will apply appropriate strategies and procedures to manage individual student behaviors and group dynamics. Students will understand the importance of appropriate ELL, LEP and ESE strategies and accommodations in the classroom.
Professional Improvement. Students will understand philosophies in Florida public schools regarding professional development and professional growth.
Code of Ethics and Principles of Professional Conduct. Students will review laws and codes governing their behavior in and out of the classroom.
Literacy. Students will evaluate strategies used across content areas for literacy instruction.
ELLs. Students will learn important insights on ELL instruction: stages of language acquisition, Consent Decree, classroom scenarios.
